DJ Snake has come a long way since “Bird Machine.” He’s racked up five Hot 100 hits, billions of plays on Spotify and more than 17 million monthly listeners. Now that he’s an international star, he’s going to give back.
Today (March 22), the French producer launches his own label. It’s called Premiere Classe, and he hopes it’ll be nothing but game-changing.
“This has always been a dream of mine,” DJ Snake is quoted in a press release. “I wanted to first build a platform and then use it to shine a light on music/people that I believe in. This record label is for people across all corners of the world, to showcase all genres of music. I grew up influenced by different cultures, sounds, feelings, emotions, and I want Premiere Classe to be a representation of that.”
The first release comes from underground Jersey Club kings 4B and Teez. “Whistle” is a wild bouncer built around the shrill call of a raver’s favorite siren. It’s got a nasty, bootylicious hook, and Snake has been dropping it in his sets for a while.
“I was given a chance some time ago, and it changed my life forever,” DJ Snake continues. “I want to be able to give the same chance to the next generation of artists. There’s a new wave coming, and we are going to be a part of it. No politics. Just dope shit. This is history in the making, here we go.”
“Whistle” is out today on Premiere Classe. Check it out below, and prepare your body for more heaters to come.
